Take Control Of Your Blog

January 5th, 2008 . by Dr. John W. Horn PhD

When I said take control of your blog , I mean that you should think of what to do to make your blog to be of standard and conform with everyday changes in the world. These are the following you should do.

1. Check some blogs that are related to your own blog , find out what they are doing to bring traffic to their blog, not just looking but all what is inside there blog (content) because content is what all you need to bring thousands of traffics to your blog. What I simply mean here is for you to look at another peoples blog and see what they do to make their blog to to be viewed all around the world and make sure you did not copy their content at all, just create your own. How Will This Blog Help Me Sell My Product?

December 18th, 2007 . by Dr. John W. Horn PhD

Recently, I took on a client who is looking for a new approach to selling a product whose sales have flattened. (Sound familiar?) Her product is a cookbook full of healthy recipes geared toward diabetics; her question was, how is a blog likely to help her generate sales?

Two sentences into my reply, I realized that this is killer material which applies broadly across all kinds of business models. Here’s what I told her:

There are a lot of other people out there selling books online, right? But only a fraction of them sell cookbooks, and an even smaller proportion sell cookbooks, and ultimately only one of them combines easy diabetic-friendly recipes, useful anecdotes, a pleasant writing style and a low price - you. (I assume I am representing you at least reasonably well?) Read the rest of this entry »

What is Blogging and How You Can Benefit

December 15th, 2007 . by Dr. John W. Horn PhD

How blogging works

Blogging can be described as an online journal in which you share your thoughts about specific topics for others to read online.  You can write posts as often as you want and any time of the day.  Blog posts are displayed in reverse chronological order with the latest blog post displaying first.

Blogs can be written from a personal perspective such as what you do on a daily basis.  Many popular blogs are written like a magazine informing readers of the latest trends.  There is a blog for almost any topic you can imagine as well as a variety of authors.  You can find blogs written by stay-at-home moms to blogs maintained by large corporations. Three Reasons Why Payperpost Can Get You Banned By Google

November 14th, 2007 . by Dr. John W. Horn PhD

We all know that Google hates paid links and link farms. This is because links are one of the prime ways that Google uses to list web pages for searches to the keywords on its search engine. Webmasters try to manipulate Google by paying other websites to link to their site so that they are able to rank well in the search engine.

PayPerPost is one of the most innovative ways that has come up as a way for websites to get links from blogs. Through PayPerPost, advertisers pay bloggers to review their website and also link to them with the appropriate anchor text. Now while this looks very simple to go undetected by Google, the bloggers leave considerable number of ‘fingerprints’ that makes it easy for Google to detect them and penalize them for getting paid to link sites. Aggressive Blogging is Your Way to Popularity

November 2nd, 2007 . by Dr. John W. Horn PhD

Recently, I become to understand that such blogging tactics like Search Engine Optimization, link baiting and commenting do not bring the necessary result. I want more than 1000 visitors per day on my blog, but what search engines give me now is nothing. I understood one thing - If I’ll be engaged only in search optimization, I can forget about my successful blogging. Read the rest of this entry »
